Sunday School is Sunday Cool..!

What does the term ‘Sunday School’ mean to you?  Old fashioned and outdated?  Pointless and unnecessary?  Our local and national daily newspapers are full of reports of increased crime rates, addiction and depression becoming worryingly common in the younger generation.  It may surprise you that the Bible can provide the answer to these and other problems.  That’s where Sunday School comes in.

Bible teachings can give children a really positive set of values and a sense of purpose in life, as well as respect for other people and a perspective on the world we live in.  The Bible teaches God's principles and encourages positivity, optimism and hope for the future.  By learning these things, our children can be better equipped with the tools to live respectful, loving, honest lives – values which we hope most people would agree are worth aspiring to.

So, Sunday School can have genuine benefits. Helping children to live, laugh and learn is something we, at the Ashby Christadelphian Church, have supported for many years.  We have classes catering for children from age 4 upwards.  Younger children have lots of fun with craft activities, singing and bible stories; older ones have fun too in more grown up ways; all the time, building Bible based life-skills and friendships.

If you're still not sure about Sunday School, why not come along to one of our weekly charity coffee mornings held at our hall on Thursdays between 10am and 12noon?  You can meet some of our members, see the Sunday School rooms, look at the displays and get a feel for the place.  Alternatively check out our website www.ashbychurch.co.uk.

Useful Bible Passage: Ecclesiastes 12 v 1 “Remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the days of trouble come and the years approach when you will say, "I find no pleasure in them".”
